Introducing Pints of Politics

Here we are, first post on the new blog!

I am Frances Rosenberg, a second year student at the University of Portsmouth with a huge interest in leftist politics, and hugely value community engagement and celebration of the diversity of cultures, ages and demographics that make up the city I study in. It is because of this that I feel that the development of infrastructure so as to effectively support their individual needs and reflect on this to be a core priority. I aim to demonstrate this by providing an insight into the struggles and decline faced by people running community spaces, in particular looking at my personal favourite, the humble pub. Loved by young and old, student and non-student, UK born or migrant, families and friends or solo visitors, drinkers and non-drinkers, they are a wonderful microcosm of society in all its many forms, and can really say a lot about the issues communities face and how they are affected by economic and political changes. It is through this blog that I will promote these ideas and give important political commentary by documenting my epic pub crawl to visit every pub in Portsmouth by the time I graduate, as well as sharing my recommendations on the best places to have a pint in Portsmouth!

PS: If you want to see some more in depth and serious political commentary, you can find me at my other blog https://walkingonthefarleft.blogspot.com/?m=1
